Brief Gardens is a magical garden, which is something that looks like it’s straight out of the Jungle book with its beautiful bamboo hedges, plants and flowers of various shapes. The garden also features a house, which is the house of Geoffrey Bawa, who is one of the most renowned architectures in the history of Sri Lanka. This house is a wonderful mural of Sri Lankan life in the story of Marc Chagall. Anyone who visits Bentota, should make sure to pay a visit to these magical gardens, as it is only 10 kilometers from Bentota. Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedara is an exceptional hotel in Sri Lanka, where one can relax in after visiting the Brief Gardens. The hotel provides luxurious accommodation and professional Ayuruvedic treatments which are ideal to combat stress, help rejuvenation and promote weight loss, with secluded treatment rooms with their own water features.

The house mainly portrays the work of Bevis Bawa, the brother of Geoffrey Bawa. The house was originally a rubber plantation, and upon the death of their mother, the plantation was converted to the now legendary gardens. The House is mainly done with cement, and the front door of the house is set of large bamboo hedges and the house is almost invisible to the eye. The roof of the house is concealed by magnificent white bougainvilleas. The house has a lot of art work done by Bewis Bawa, and many other work by other artists are featured too. The beautiful Male Nude Sculptures are remarkable and one should not definitely miss out on these beautiful art pieces.
