Dreaming of a Caribbean getaway? Look up Turks and Caicos: luxury resorts, over two hundred miles of powdery white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters abuzz with marine life await; only a ninety minute plane ride from Miami. The group of islands is the one of the Caribbean’s hidden gems. Venture further and you will discover old villages that have escaped the tourist influence. If you are looking for accommodation look no further than the beachfront where the COMO Hotels & Resorts group have prepared a luxurious treat for your senses.

One of the Turks and Caicos Islands’ main attractions is Chalk Sound National Park. The park is a scattering of small islets set in a lagoon that resembles a bright blue carpet laid out without a wrinkle. The small islands are awash with lush vegetation and cliff formations of limestone that make for some unique and wonderful views.

The status of national park is taken very seriously and motor boats are not allowed into the area. Take a kayak and paddle around or a sailboat and enjoy the scenery at your own pace. However you choose to enjoy the islands, the sense of tranquility will wash over you along with the warm sea breezes. The islands though uninhabited by people are home to reptiles like rock iguanas. In the waters that surround the islands one would find barracudas, bonefish, stingrays, lemon sharks and on occasion sea turtles. Among the wonders of Chalk Sound National Park look out for the old wreckage of an airplane. The twin-engine airplane is an intriguing sight, it is covered in algae and part of it stands out above the surface of the water. To get a closer look strap on a snorkel and dive into the lagoon. The entrance to a maze of underwater caves is also visible through the clear waters.
