Hong Kong, China is easily one of the most enthralling cities in the World: it is the financial center of Asia and also its culinary capital. You can see modern day culture leading back to China’s ancient roots and further enriched by influences from around the world. A visit to this part of the globe promises to be a rewarding experience. Why not venture into Hong Kong’s party district to find hotels? In Wanchai Hong Kong, the party rages through the night but is a laid back neighbourhood by day with great shopping.
A popular attraction for visitors to Hong Kong is The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It spreads five and a half hectares across the northern slope of Victoria Peak, only a ten minute drive from the Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong. The very first portion of the Gardens opened in 1864, during the Victorian era. The Botanical Gardens became a local attraction in 1871 and then became the ‘Zoological and Botanical Gardens’ after a significant number of zoological displays had been added, in 1975.
Visiting the Gardens, you will be treated to a number of pleasant water features, sculptures, manicured greenhouses and plenty of exotic plant species. There is also a zoo and aviaries that house over one hundred and sixty bird species. The premises runs a large scale captive breeding programme that aims to protect endangered species. The zoo is split into two parts by Albany Road but you can take the subway to travel between the sections. The Old Garden can be found to the east with a children’s playground, the aviaries, the greenhouses and the Fountain Terrace Garden. The New Garden, on the western side, is home to most of the animals.
