Thiththi Boli (Beautiful Shells) Kids Club in Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas

The Maldives may have gained a reputation for being the perfect destination for couples, but make no mistake it is also a wonderful place for a family getaway. If you are worried that the kids may get bored here, don’t be for there are lots to do and experience especially at the Maldives family hotels that cater to kids of all ages.

When choosing a resort to stay at, select one that has a specialised kids club. Resorts such as Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas offer such clubs that do more than just keep kids occupied but involve them in interactive learning and fun activities. Apart from playground type equipment and space, certain kids clubs offer activities like junior cooking classes, treasure hunts, island exploration and arts and craft making.

Of course, these activities aside, the Maldives also provides plenty of water sports for kids. Snorkelling is easily the most popular since no prior experience is needed and it is an activity that the whole family can enjoy together. Since the country’s vibrant coral and marine life can be viewed even in shallow waters, snorkelling is the perfect activity for all and kids will love the adventure out at sea as well. Some resorts even offer special children’s diving certifications like the PADI Bubblemaker course, ideal for older kids from 8 to 12 years. Taking a ride on a traditional boat known as a dhoni is another fun activity, while the Maldives is also a great place for whale and dolphin watching which will keep young and old alike, fully captivated.

The beaches of each resort also provide plenty of space for kids to have fun. Beach sports such as volleyball and football can be readily enjoyed on the soft sand where kids can just enjoy the joy of running around as well. The beaches in Maldives are also one of the best places for kids to indulge in an all-time favourite activity that never ceases to decline in popularity over the years; building sandcastles!
