For the traveller looking at things to do in Kulala Lumpur, there is something that everyone should do in this city. Even TIME Magazine has listed the Bird Park as one of the must do things amongst its top ten list of things to do in Kuala Lumpur. This bird park is one of the most popular attractions amongst the visitors to the region and irrespective of whether one is travelling with young children, friends and family or on your own, everyone is sure to find things that are worth remembering and exciting here.

The park spans a massive area of 8.5 hectares and it is said to receive more than two hundred thousand visitors every year. It is home to more than 200 different species of birds and more than 3000 birds. Out of that almost 90 percent are said to be local species, thus making it an ideal place to go see tropical fowls. It is also part of what is known as the Lake Gardens.

There are a large number of daily activities that take place and it is possible to spend the whole day engaging in the different activities and enjoying the amazing shows performed by the birds. The day’s programmes start with photography with birds, which will give the visitors a chance to capture memorable snaps posing with colorful feathered friends. It is followed by a free flying bird feeding session, hornbills, parrots and lories feeding. Around mid-day there is a bird show featuring some of the best of the birds and their antics. There are also programmes for ostrich, emu and eagle feeding. In the evening again there is another show in the amphitheater and the day comes to a close at around 4 with a milky stork food offering session.

In addition to catching up on all these amazing shows and feeding sessions, the things to explore here range from free flight aviary, Brahmini land, flamingo pond, bul bul land, world of parrots, bird gallery and education center, oriental aviary, waterfall aviary, egg incubation and many more. All these attractions can be easily reached from any Kuala Lumpur Hotel or a Hotel in Bukit Bintang such as the Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur.
