The Museum of Life and Science in Durham, North Carolina, USA, contains a majority of hands on exhibits that are there to demonstrate the ideas of natural science. The Museum of Life & Science was initially called the North Carolina Children’s Museum and later called the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science. The Museum of Life & Science extends over an area of 80 acres (320, 000 square meters) and is cut in half by Murray Avenue. The main par to of the museum is located towards the Northern part of the facility, which houses the exhibits. The southern part is mostly the administrative area and also serves as the car park.

The North Carolina Museum of Life & Science is well known, also historically, for its Aerospace exhibit. The exhibit features the NASA space program. Much of the articles that are being displayed are actually on lease from the National Air and Space Museum. A significant proportion of the articles cover the Project Apollo mission. These include moon rocks, Neil Armstrong’s dosimeter, a portion of the lunar rover, an Apollo Command Module and a life size model of the Lunar Module.

The museum also has an outdoor exhibition called BioQuest. Here there is the butterfly House,Catch the Wind, Explore the Wild and Dinosaur Trail exhibits on show. In the Durham area, one will be able to find a Durham Hotel for lodging for a day or more at the Millennium Hotel Durham. Staying a day or two would prove to be a great way to see the many attractions in the area.
