Dotted around the 12.5-hectare forest sanctuary are ancient relics which serve different traditional purposes, included places of worship and funeral sites. The Monkeys
Conservation of the natural habitat is a major component of the Ubud Monkey Forest. Efforts are consistently made to ensure the monkeys’ wellbeing including dietary and social aspects. A note of advice would be to not wear any loose apparel, flash jewellery or any other items of value as the cheeky monkeys are known to take these items and run off into the countless trees. If something does happen, do not panic and attempt to aggressively engage with the monkeys yourself.
