If you will be visiting this beautiful city an outstanding accommodation choice would be serviced apartments in Melbourne such as Oaks On Lonsdale. This appealing accommodation is well-known for its convenient interiors and gracious hospitality.

If you are visiting Melbourne and have some leisure time to spare, an excellent place to relax and unwind would be the Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens, which are situated adjacently. Both of these gardens are attractive and meticulously maintained, providing a pleasant haven from business or sightseeing for visitors.

The Treasury Gardens are one of Melbourne’s prominent gardens, a beautifully landscaped expanse featuring lovely lawns, handsome old trees and shaded walking pathways. You will find a splendid array of trees here including various kinds of figs, cedars, elms, poplars, oaks and pines.

Visitors will also find a number of interesting memorials within the gardens. One of these, a bust completed in marble, is dedicated to William Clarke, a well-known citizen of the city in times gone by. Another fascinating monument, a bas-relief in bronze, stands in memory of US President J. F. Kennedy. This memorial stands next to a lovely pond with a special water fountain.

Equally attractive is the charming Fitzroy Gardens which also attracts a steady stream of visitors, both residents and travellers to the city. You will find several features of interest within these picturesque gardens including two picturesque cottages, one dedicated to Captain James Cook and the other to James Sinclair, a head gardener here in the 19th century.

Other highlights include the Scarred Tree, a remnant from times before the arrival of Europeans and the Fairies’ Tree, a huge attraction for children with its attractive carvings. Not to be missed is the remarkable Tudor Village which dates to 1948 and the Grey Street Walk with its splendid fountain. You will also find many other attractions within these picturesque gardens.
