Although one might think of beaches and sand when one hears the word Bali, there is so much more to it than nature. The latest addition to the ever-growing list of attractions in Bali is the Trick Art Museum: a 3D art gallery located on the Sunset Road, a mere 15 minutes’ drive away from Alila Seminyak. Bali introduced this latest form of entertainment to the island in 2014, depicting that Balinese creativity is not limited to constructing a hotel. Seminyak being a favourite tourist town, it was then decided the ideal location to house this two-storey art gallery where over 80 pieces of creative illustrations await the visitor.
The sort of entertainment that is provided by the Trick Art Museum is the kind that caters to any individual. Unlike adventure sports or a theme park where a thirst for adrenaline or a prior knowledge of the scenarios is necessary to fully understand the concept, this is a simple play on the mind. The murals and artwork cater to every member of the family.

Children are likely to enjoy playing sailing in a canoe in the middle of a busy city, or playing a giant piano; the adults, on the other hand, have plenty to choose from. It could be simply having a glass of wine poured for you by a famous painting or escaping from a dinosaur from Jurassic Park. While all these are visible to the naked eye and are entertaining mind tricks, there are a few installations whose illusions are apparent only after a picture is taken. For instance, there is one room in the gallery where its asymmetric structure and strategic placement of models make it appear as if one is giant once the picture is taken.
Open daily from 9am to 10pm, this is one place in Bali where the whole family can have non-stop entertainment for a whole day.
