Dubai doesn’t get enough credit for being a genuinely great family destination. Beyond the luxury and the skyline, here is how you can embark on a family adventure filled with a mix of theme parks, kid-friendly attractions and desert safaris.

Theme Parks

Staying at JA Lake View Hotel Dubai puts families within easy reach of some of the city’s biggest crowd-pleasers. Atlantis The Palm is the obvious starting point, home to Aquaventure Waterpark, one of the region’s largest, with slides, a lazy river, and a private beach all on one site.

Marine Life Encounters

The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, set inside the Dubai Mall and located within easy reach of your Dubai resort, gives families a chance to walk through a massive tank of sharks and rays. It is a great way to combine some kid-friendly entertainment with an afternoon of shopping once everyone’s had their fill.

Hands-On Learning

The Children’s City leans more educational, with interactive exhibits covering science, space and culture in a format built specifically for younger kids, but it is also enjoyable for parents. This is a good family excursion that does not feel like a typical museum visit.

Desert Safari

Many tour operators run family-friendly desert safaris that include highly sought-after experiences such as camel rides, sandboarding and a barbecue dinner at a desert camp. Kids can enjoy the fun rides and sand, while parents can relax over Arabic coffee and a great barbecue.
