Avilon Zoo – For Educational Fun!

The largest zoological park in the Philippines with regards to collection of animals and land area, the Avilon Zoo is located in Barrio San Isidrom, a picturesque valley in Rodriguez. Home to over 600 species of amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds, invertebrates and freshwater fishes, the facility is spread across 7.5 hectares. Housing a diverse collection of plants in addition to native fauna, the zoo seeks to become one of the premiere wildlife facilities in Southeast Asia. Most of its fauna have been successfully bred in captivity owing to its Ex Situ Conservation programs.

The non-profit organization, Avilon Wildlife Conservation Foundation is dedicated to greatly contributing to the wildlife conservation efforts in Philippines, through a selection of preservation and educational programs. In addition to the Avilon Zoo in Rodriguez, the foundation also runs Ark Avilon Zoo located in Pasig City.
Visitors to Avilon Zoo can take part in educational field trips and guided tours which provide the ideal opportunity of learning about wildlife. Guests are also encouraged to try their hand at feeding animals such as deer, wild horses, giant tortoises, exotic water fowl and arapaimas.
