Butterflies are beautiful and delicate creatures which make its atmosphere lightened up where ever it goes. The innocent creatures are loved and adored by all human beings and is now in the verge of extinction because of the environmental changes and pollutions. However hidden in forests and natural habitats you still can find colourful butterflies fluttering about feeling the sense of freedom. At Banteay Srey Butterfly Centre in Siem Reap they engage in protecting and breeding the butterfly species for the future generations and helping them to stay away from extinction.
This small enterprise houses the largest butterfly exhibits in the whole of South Asia and indeed a very popular attraction among the Siem Reap visitors. The Sanday Village in Siem Reap is a rural village which is an absolute haven for the wonderful creatures. While visitors are on the way to the Banteay Srey Temple and also the Landmine Museum they have made it a habit to stop by and enjoy the colourful animals that flutter by. The butterfly farm is a mode of living for the people in Siem Reap especially because of the tourists that stop by the centre quite frequently. The centre has now developed a lot with the help of many sponsors and is about to begin pupae exporting to expand their business overseas to heighten the living standards of the many rural families living off butterfly rearing in the village.
