Dudley Zoological Garden is an enormous and wonderful zoo located in the town named Dudley in the premises of Dudley Castle in England. The Zoo was opened up to the public on the 18th of May 1937 with the help of the Dudley Zoological society. It has becomes a very popular place of attraction among people for the historical building so as the zoo. The buildings of the zoo contain twelve buildings that are listed. These ancient buildings show off an art décor in its architectural style even though it was refurbished in 2011 at a cost of £1.15 million together with parts of the zoo as well.
The remains of the Dudley Castle dates back to the 11th Century and carry a history of many significant incidents within its walls. In 1958 a visitor chairlift has been put up between the castle and the zoo entrance and was removed from use in the year 2000 for safety and health issues and was regenerated in 2012 June after the refurbishments. The Dudley Zoological Gardens housed two African elephants, but had to remove them in 2003 so they could gather more space in the garden. The zoo still houses large animals like tigers, giraffes, lions, snow leopards and wallabies who are well taken care of. The Dudley Zoo is home to over 1000 wild animals ranging over 200 species most of who are endangered species and bred in captivity.
In 1968 the zoo had a killer whale named Cuddles who was in the whale pools which were tailored seal pools. However the zoo found it difficult to manage Cuddles and was put up for sale but it died in 1974 before it was taken away. All the England visitors love to visit this historical site housing an amazing zoo with plenty of animals from all over the world.
