Situated at One Fullerton, this park is within easy reach of the Central Business District and is a popular attraction amongst tourists. At the park you can view the official symbol of the country, the Merlion. This fascinating and iconic Singaporean symbol is in actual fact a combination of two creatures; it has the head of a lion while the body is that of a fish. This famous symbol represents the origins of the country from its beginnings as a humble fishing village; the word “mer” translates to mean the sea.
The main Merlion statue at the park measures 8.6 metres in height and is in fact the original statue that was previously located at the mouth of the city’s river. Since the view of this structure was blocked after the construction of the Esplanade Bridge, it was moved in 2002 to where it stands today, proudly looking out across the Marina Bay.

Those visiting the city and looking for a well equipped serviced residence Singapore has to offer can stay at Riverdale Residence Singapore. Also ideal for travellers in need of short stay apartments Singapore, Riverdale Residence Singapore provides guests with a wide range of modern comforts and conveniences.
