The Phu Chi Fa Forest Park is a lush green reserve located in Thailand’s Chiang Rai Province. The park is a part of the Pa Mae Ngao and the Pa Mae Ing National Forest Reserve. The park is roughly 1200 to 1600 metres above sea level and offers stunning vistas of the Doi Pa Monh mountain range, which spreads along the border between Thailand and Laos.

Visitors will come across an amazing variety of plants at the park, including a number of different ferns and moss as well as sweet scented cinnamon trees. Plenty of animals also make their home here and one should keep an eye out for them too. Among the animals found here are civets, pigs, deer, hares, porcupines and tigers. The Asian Golden Cat and the Flying Lemur can also be found here. The forest park is not a typical tourist hotspot thanks to its remote location, and one need not worry about loud noises and jostling crowds. In fact, the forest is pretty quiet and serene and is the perfect place for nature lovers and for those coming down from metropolitan areas looking for a change of scenery.

One can get there by car or take bus number 677 from the bus terminal at Chiang Rai. The forest can be reached through a series of long, winding roads, and the route is highly picturesque being characterised by misty mountains and lush valleys. Chiang Rai province is found to the north of Thailand, and the famed ‘Golden Triangle’ is situated here. The Golden Triangle is where the mountains of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, overlap. Those visiting the Phu Chi Fa Forest Park will be able to see parts of Laos and Myanmar.

Tourists hoping to stay in Chiang Rai will have plenty of options when it comes to accommodation. One can find Chiang Rai hotels to suit nearly any kind of budget. Those in search of a luxury hotel in Chiang Rai can try the Anantara Golden Triangle Thailand. Perched on a hill near Thailand’s border and offering amazing views of the surroundings, it is the ideal place to kick back and relax.
