The Overseas Chinese Town East also known as OCT east is a tourist destination located in Dameisha, Shenzhen. Spanning an area of 9 square kilometres, it was built by the OCT group for approximately 3.5 billion Yuan. OCT east includes many interesting sites to visit such as 2 theme parks, 4 resort hotels, 3 towns, 2 golf courses as well as sites likie the Hua Xing Temple and Tianlu mansion.

The 2 theme parks are Ecoventure valley and Tea Stream resort Valley. Interlaken Town, Ancient Tea Town and Seafield Town are the names of the 3 towns while the 18 hole golf courses are namely Wind Valley Golf Course and Public Golf Course.

Each of the towns has their own theme; Seafield town for instance is based on grape wine culture. Bronze statues throughout the town depict the various processes involved in brewing red wine from red grapes. With its rustic buildings of wood and stone the town has an overall feeling that is very similar to 19th century Napa Valley in California, USA. Even the shops and theatres here have adapted the theme and given rise to places such as Sky Strip, Village Inn and many others.

The 2 theme parks are the other important aspect of OCT east. The Ecoventure valley includes the Seafield Village, Adventure Canyon, Peak Highland, the Breakers Lagoon and the Rapids Forest. China’s largest seashore waterfall known as the Giant waterfall is also located within this area. Tea Stream Resort Valley has 4 theme areas; The Wetland Tea garden, the Sanzhou Tea Garden, the Interlaken and Ancient Tea Town.

Drawing inspiration from a famed tourist resort in Switzerland, Tea Stream Resort Valley is located in the Interlaken Town and makes you feel like you are actually in Europe. In contrast the Sanzhou tea garden gives you a completely Chinese experience.

Exploring the entire OCT east area is time consuming yet fun. If you want to do it then stay at one of the neighbouring Shenzhen serviced apartment. There are a number of reasonably prices serviced apartment Shenzhen. Renowned among them is Somerset Garden City Shenzhen.
