South Asian Cinema encompasses all cinematic endeavours of countries such as Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Maldives and Bhutan. Films produced in these countries tend to gravitate towards similar themes, shooting styles and acting mannerisms. For example in Sri Lanka, Nkar Film Eye which has been responsible for over 45 films continues to be one of the popular options when it comes to film production. Sri Lanka is home to many breathtaking types of scenery and therefore the company will offer you a variety of venues ideal for film production.

Sri Lanka for instance was easily influenced by Indian cinema at the beginning of its Cinematic endeavours. Despite certain foreign films being shot in Sri Lanka since 1925, it was only in 1950 that Sri Lanka first ventured into shooting an out of studio film.

These early films have since won many awards and accolades for its thematic storylines, and courageous ventures into unexplored film technique areas.

Through the years there have been many talented film directors and producers who have gone on to produce worthy films of International repute. Apart from Sri Lankan cinema, Indian cinema has certainly taken the world by storm with its endearing and largely attractive Hindi movie repertoire known for its beautiful and talented actors and actresses, and colourful storyline as well as the more guttural Tamil Movies with its Hero and Heroine.

Other South Asian Countries too have made their own mark in producing films worthy of their country.

Looking at the relative success of the South Asian Cinema – especially within the region, Institutes such as the South Asian Cinema Foundation have established themselves in order to further guide, develop and enhance the quality and image of South Asian Cinema world over. To this end many South Asian Films now participate in Films and Festivals which set a standard to aspire to.
