Since its inception in 2009, the Bali Shell Museum has attracted people of all ages due to its unique attractions. The museum houses at least 10,000 seashells and over 300 ancient fossils, making its collection easily one of the largest and most vibrant collections of shells under one roof. The museum is divided into three floors. The first floor contains various displays of seashells as well as a host of household items such as lamps, mugs and ornaments made of shells. The second floor is home to a range of ancient fossils, including extinct invertebrates, trilobites and ammonites. The third floor houses a large collection of unique, rare and exotic shells which are truly mesmerizing, as well as preserved creatures of the ocean such as sharks, starfish and sea urchins. A major highlight of the museum is the 300 million year old Madagascan cephalopod fossils. All in all, this museum offers a collection of shells which you are unlikely to see anywhere else!
