Beaches, forts, a lighthouse, yummy food and animals, that is exactly why Galle is the most popular place in down south Sri Lanka.

Galle has many places to stay at, but it can get pretty crowded during the summer and if you want to be at a safe distance from the entire bustle, staying in Kalutara might be a good idea, at AVANI Kalutara Resort for example. There are a lot of things to do in Kalutara too, and once you exhaust them, you can hop on a bus and get to Galle.

The fortress in Galle has some shady tales passed down for generations and at sunset, everyone in town usually gathers up here to bid farewell to the day. Certainly, an idyllic town with quaint white washed buildings and a sense of calm about it, Galle proves to be the perfect getaway for a short holiday time after time. Its paved streets, cobbled pathways, tiny shops, ancient vehicles and that fact that literally every lane in Galle Fort leads to the beach is something that makes every visitor be awed. Filled with chilled out vibes and some unexplainable magic in the air, Galle Fort is a fun place for all ages.
