The Jurong Bird Park is a massive bird park located in Singapore. It is the world’s largest bird park in terms of bird population and is the second biggest when considering the area of land (which stands at around fifty acres). The African Wetlands and the African Waterfall Aviary features a plethora of birds from Africa such as shoebills and turacos.
Other exhibits include Lory Loft, Penguin Coast, the Southeast Asian Birds Aviary and World of Darkness, which features nocturnal birds such as Snowy Owls and Night Herons. The avian park also has a special exhibit dedicated to flightless birds such as ostriches, rheas, and emu. The park is open daily between 8.30 am and 6 pm and is easily accessible by public transport. As it is quite a large place visitors should consider using the park’s website to plan their trip in advance. Feeding the birds is strictly prohibited.
