The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is an Australian sports stadium in Yarra Park, Melbourne. It is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere. It was built in 1853 and has hosted the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games as well as two Cricket World Cups in 1992 and 2015. The Cricket Boxing Day Test match is an annually held 4-day event that draws over 250,000 spectators each year.

Formula 1 Racing

The Australian Grand Prix has been held at the Albert Park in Melbourne since 1996. A 16-turn circuit, which spans 5.3 kilometres, was built utilising a combination of public roads and a car park. Since moving from Adelaide to Melbourne, the race has become the 1st race of the F1 calendar for many years now.
