During your visit to Sri Lanka there are so much that you will encounter that will delight you from its culture to the food, historical attractions, and it’s amazing natural diversity. The latter range from the wild jungles of Yala and Wilpattu to the cool climes of Ella. This last one is a wonderful city that holds many attractions.

Ella is located about 5 hours away from the city of Colombo where the Bandaranaike International Airport is located. Since you will be quite tired at the end of the journey, the best way to make sure you thoroughly enjoy all of Ella’s attractions would be to first check in at a nearby hotel to relax. One option would be Jetwing Kaduruketha which is an eco hotel Sri Lanka located in close proximity to Ella’s top attraction, Little Adam’s Peak.

Little Adam’s Peak has sort of the same shape as the sacred mountain of Adam’s Peak or Sri Pada. It is much shorter in height which is why it’s called ‘Little’ Adam’s Peak. It only takes half an hour to get to the peak and it’s easy enough for even families with children. Hiking to the 1141 meter peak gives you the opportunity to enjoy a range of stunning views of the surrounding valleys and tea plantations as well as the Ravana Falls. These falls are also one of Ella’s top attractions. The cool waters of this waterfalls form many pools that are ideal for a relaxing dip.

Another one of Ella’s attractions is the Demodara Bridge. Built entirely of solid rock, bricks, and cement with no steel; the Demodara Bridge has nine spectacular sky bridges.
