One of Shanghai’s most popular and exciting attractions is the Shanghai Wild Animal Park. Located in the Nanhui District of Shanghai, this park was Shanghai’s first national zoological garden, and is currently one of the best parks in China. An apart’hotel which offers spacious and fully equipped apartments near Shanghai Times Square is the luxury Ascott Huai Hai Road Shanghai.

Established in 1995, the Shanghai Wild Animal Park is spread over an area of 153 hectares. The park houses many species of animals, and is currently home to over 10,000 animals from 200 different species. Ranging from endangered animals from around the world to popular local animals, you can see a wide variety of wildlife at the park, thus making it an attraction suited for the whole family.

The Shanghai Wild Animal Park is home to creatures you would see in most parks such as lions, bears, giraffes, buffalo, and crocodiles and reptiles, but interestingly, the park is also home to many species of endangered animals such as White Tigers, White Rhinoceroses, South-China Tigers and Golden Monkeys. The park is separated to several zones such as the Herbivore Zone, the Aquatic Bird Lake, the Rare Animal Park, and the Sea Lion Performance Zone; each with animals that fall within that zone. The endangered Giant Panda can also be seen at the park and is actually quite a highlight amongst the locals and tourists. The park can be explored through two routes; the walking route or the bus route. The walking route is better suited if you wish to leisurely walk through the park at your own pace, but the bus route is what takes you closer to some of the more exciting and ferocious animals of the park.

The park also has an animal kindergarten, where kids and even adults can get close to some of the more friendly animals. All in all, the Shanghai Wild Animal Park is a great attraction which you should definitely pay a visit.
