Lotus Tower

This beautiful lotus bud-shaped tower is the city’s newest addition and also South Asia’s tallest free-standing structure. Once you reach the top, you can see the entire city and sweeping views of the magnificent skyline against the ocean.

National Museum of Colombo

The National Museum of Colombo is the island’s official museum that takes you through the long years of Sri Lanka’s illustrious past. The museum features artefacts, historic sculptures, jewellery and even paintings that depict the country’s culture.

Viharamahadevi park

Located in the heart of the city, this large outdoor area is a sanctuary among the buildings and urban skyscrapers. You can take a quiet walk within these green grounds undisturbed by anybody. This park can be reached easily by many hotels near Colombo. If you opt for a beach hotel such as Pegasus Reef, it’s only 30mins away!

Nelum Pokuna Theater

This lotus-shaped theatre is one of the most famous landmarks in the city. It is located just across the road from Viharamahadevi Park and is very easily spotted by its unique façade. You can catch a pop concert, opera performance and many other cultural performances here on a daily basis.
