Believed to be constructed between 1622 and 1638, the Guia Fortress Macau has been invaluable in fending off the Dutch invasion that was attempted in the year 1622. Explore the many Macau Hotels has to offer while visiting this historical site, amongst which the Galaxy Macau Resort Hotel is believed to be a Macau hotel that is sought after by many. Covering an area of around 800 square metres, the Guia Fortress Macau also features a chapel that was originally established by Clarist nuns and a lighthouse, the first modern lighthouse to be established on the Chinese coast. Seemingly simplistic, the plain facades add to the overall charm of the place which because of its ideal positioning was useful also as a lookout from which warnings against oncoming typhoons were issued to Chinese citizens. The Guia Fortress because of its historical value is named as a UNESCO World Heritage site as well as part of the greater Historic Centre of Macau.
