Opened to the public in May 1991, the Hong Kong Park has served as an open space dedicated to greenery and nature. In this sprawling public space one can find many beautifully maintained gardens and lawns, decorated with flower beds, lily ponds, and fountains. There are also many designated playgrounds and walkways. The fountain plaza, the artificial waterfall, the taichi garden and the viewing tower are some of the park’s highlights. The Hong Kong Park is also home to several historic landmarks such as Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, the Rawlinson House, and the Cassels Block; which houses the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. The park is also home to the Edward Youde Aviary, a favorite attraction amongst bird-watchers.
