The Mines Wonderland emerged from an eighty hectare lake located next to a tin mine. Water plays a major role in the park and connects the park to the Mine Shopping Fair, the Malaysia International Exhibition Showroom (the MINES), and the Palace of the Golden Horses. There are a number of activities one can enjoy at the park. The list of activities include a variety of water sports such as wakeboarding and water skiing at the lake, taking a relaxing cruise around the lake, or simply splashing around on the shores of Malaysia’s largest artificial beach. The highlight of the Mines Wonderland theme park is the Musical Fountain. There are two shows everyday, one at 8 pm and another at 9 pm on weekdays- the 9 pm show is shifted to 9.30 on public holidays.

The park is located in Seri Kembangan roughly half an hour’s drive from the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur. It is open from 3 pm to 10 pm everyday except for Mondays- unless the Monday is a public holiday. Visitors should plan to spend between two to three hours here. The park is not just for children and can be enjoyed by adults as well. The park is easily accessible. Those who plan on taking the KTM can get off at the Serdang Station and then take a short walk to the park.

Located close to Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia, Malaysia is often overlooked as a vacation destination. However, it is a country of incredible diversity and has a lot to offer casual tourists and seasoned travellers. Malaysia has a number of national parks, untouched beaches and numerous historical and cultural attractions. Public infrastructure such as transport is pretty good throughout the country and is particularly well run in more metropolitan areas such as the capital.

There is no doubt that Kuala Lumpur, or just KL to the locals, is the most exciting city in Malaysia. It is home to a number of iconic local attractions such as the Petronas Twin Towers and the Batu Caves. The public transport system is extensive and any gaps in it can be filled in by patrolling taxis. One can also find accommodation to suit most budgets. Tourists looking for a good Kuala Lumpur service apartment can try the Somerset Seri Bukit Ceylon Kuala Lumpur. They offer serviced apartment Kuala Lumpur located right in the heart of the city.
