Singapore, an island city-state located south of Malaysia, is one of the most developed cities in the world. Known as the world’s fourth leading financial and economic centre, Singapore has gained a reputation for being one of the wealthiest nations with a high standard of living. It is also home to a wide range of tourist attractions including historic and cultural landmarks, bustling shopping districts, and exciting leisure attractions, also making it an extremely popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia.

One of the most unique nature and wildlife attractions of Singapore is the Night Safari. The Night Safari is a zoo which is open to the public only at night, allowing visitors the opportunity to witness animal behaviour during the nocturnal hours of the day. This is a fully open-air zoo and is also the nine time winner of the Singapore Tourist Board’s Best Visitor Attraction Experience award.

The Night Safari was established in May 1994 under the executive chairmanship of Dr. Ong Swee Law, and continues to be one of the most famous attractions in the country attracting over one million visitors each year! The zoo is home to 1,040 animals from over 120 species of wildlife, 29% of which comprise endangered or threatened species. Most animals behave very differently during the night time than they do during daylight, and hence this site is an ideal place to witness the different behavioural patterns of creatures in the night.

The Night Safari is divided into eight geographical sections, each housing animals accustomed to that specific geographical habitat, which can be explored via foot or by tram. One can expect to see animals such as rhinoceroses, elephants, tigers, tapirs, deer and babirusas. One of the highlights of this site is the Creatures of the Night Show where several nocturnal animals display their natural talents and habits. There are food and beverage outlets at this attraction as well, making it ideal for a great nocturnal wildlife experience.

Set overlooking the Singapore River and boasting of a grand contemporary style is Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore, a luxury hotel Singapore. Located in close proximity to several cultural and shopping attractions, this hotel offers tranquil accommodation in a range of luxurious and sophisticated rooms and suites. One can also enjoy the comforts of exquisite restaurants, wellness and fitness facilities, and business services, while also being able to benefit from great Singapore hotel promotions.
