Vietnam is a popular destination among tourists due to the countless number of things on offer for everyone visiting. Some of the places that are famous among tourists are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City as well as Hoi An.

Hoi An is a coastal town and the beaches here are popular with tourists. Due to the large number of tourists, finding a Hoi An resort is not a task. The city is a great place to base yourself to explore the East of Vietnam. Hoi An is a port city and is famous for it’s ancient town which is known for the network of canals. While in Hoi an one could choose to relax by the beach or if you are culture savvy, explore the UNESCO world heritage site. There are a handful of activities to do in Hoi An and some hotels go a step further than just providing accommodation to their guests such as Anantara Hoi An Resort by offering special area excursions.

While in Hoi An, one could explore the ancient city by foot or take a ride on the canals that draw a striking resemblance to Venice. The once busy trade center used the canals for transportation. Most of the infrastructure in the city is built around the canals. The Hoi An museum of History and Culture is also a great place to check out. It is located in what is considered to be one of Vietnam’s ancient Pagodas. A great place to visit if you want to observe the changes that occurred in the history of Vietnam.

As mentioned before Hoi An being a base allows visitors to explore neighboring attractions such as My Son Sanctuary which is located 70 minutes away from Hoi An. This was once the political and religious capital of the Champa Kingdom, which is regarded as an important period in the history of Southeast Asia. Tra Que Herb Village is another place that is located approximately three kilometers from Hoi An and is a great place to learn about the age-old cultivation methods practiced in what is regarded as one of the most fertile soils.
