The Seychelles islands contain some of the most beautiful landmasses in the world. Located on the Indian Ocean, east of the African continent, the Seychelles islands contain lush tropical beauty and a unique culture that has formed over years of influence by various countries. Seychelles is also a popular tourist destination with many choices of indulgent accommodation to choose from, such as the Berjaya Praslin Resort one of many a Hotel Praslin Seychelles has to offer. Praslin, which is the second largest of the 115 islands that form the country, has Vallée de Mai, which is an essential hotspot in the country.
The Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and contains an incredible range of flora and fauna. It is highly protected since it is only one of two places in the world where the coco de mer palm is found naturally. Bird-lovers in particular would adore this nature reserve since there are a large variety of spectacular winged creatures to be seen, such as the Seychelles Bulbul and the endangered Black Parrot. When it comes to the latter, there are less than nine hundred left in the wild.
The entire park can only be traversed on foot through the use of several hiking trails. Incredibly, the entire forest has remained untouched ever since the 1930s. The forest itself is unique, and mesmerising where hikers will be in the constant shade provided by the massive leaves of the coco de mer palms. There are additional fifty-plus plants that are only found within this region of the world.
There are two ways you can embark on an adventure to this park. One is with the help of a guide, and the other is to simply make your way through the trails. The former is recommended since it is the best way to get the most out of your trip.
