Encompassing a beach front hill that boasted thick green grass, the citizens of New Zealand made it their safe haven and visited it every time they wanted to relax or break away from the daily routines of life. Centuries passed and the very location still happens to be Wellingtons favourite getaway. In the vicinity you can also find a skate park for the teens and a children’s play garden; this way every member of the family is thoroughly occupied. Sip a cup of coffee at the modest little cafes or indulge in a game of Petanque; there are several things to choose from in a day out in Waitangi. The other area of the park is lined with a couple of fish and chips restaurants and a central open field. It is also an excellent place to take in the breathtaking beauty of Wellington; Paddle in the tide, stroll along the Broadway promenade, bask in the sunset; the opportunity for breathtaking tranquillity is limitless.

For all those indoor fans, Waitangi has also designed a whole new building featuring the world of indoor recreation, so rest assured whatever your preferences may be, you will have something to enjoy at the Waitangi Park.
